Like many legacy reporting solutions, the City of Boise’s were a mix of multiple systems implemented by different people over time. This made obtaining accurate and reliable data reports difficult, adding to the workload of the City’s already busy Data Engineering team.
Leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI, Resource Data redesigned the City’s data model, constructed a robust data pipeline, and built visually intuitive dashboards and reports. Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission

Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE)
Data Analysis Enhances Higher Education Reporting
Each year, ACPE publishes the APS Outcomes Report, a key document for informing the governor’s office and legislative bodies about the impact of the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS). Lacking staff capacity, data, and statistical expertise, ACPE turned to Resource Data for help gathering and preparing data for the report.
Leveraging Stata, a data-science statistical software, our team cleaned and merged diverse datasets to answer critical questions about scholarship recipients. We provided insights on student demographics, degree areas, in-state retention, and more. The resulting analysis formed the foundation of ACPE’s final report, helping to demonstrate the scholarship’s effects on students’ educational and career paths.
By managing complex data processing with speed and accuracy, we helped ACPE to meet their reporting obligations. Our insights strengthened the APS report and supported legislative decision-making for future education funding and program improvements.
Alaska Railroad Corporation
Visualizing Key Data to Improve Operations
Alaska Railroad delivers essential freight and passenger services across the state. To better support diverse departmental needs and improve efficiency, they sought more effective tools for data visualization and reporting.
We built Sisense dashboards powered by Elasticubes, integrating data from multiple systems into tailored datamarts. These dashboards met the specific needs of freight, passenger services, HR, and others by delivering KPIs, year-over-year comparisons, and financial forecasts.
Train performance was tracked using data from the Computer Aided Dispatch system, with color-coded views and summaries of delays and other key metrics. Passenger dashboards revealed ridership trends, booking sources, and revenue, while freight tools incorporated rail track temperature data to guide load decisions.
The solution simplified reporting, enhanced access to critical data, and enabled faster decision-making. Train operators and staff now access timely insights, while executives receive automated reports highlighting performance by business unit.
